All guidesMAC, WINDOWS OR CHROMEBOOK?

Start with the apps you need.

The right operating system is the one that runs your work comfortably and fits the devices you already use.

Windows

A broad choice of hardware and software makes Windows a practical starting point when specific desktop apps or games are required. Check the exact processor architecture: Windows on Arm can have compatibility limits for some apps, drivers and games.

Mac

A Mac can be a good fit for people who prefer macOS and whose apps support it. Check specialist work software and games before choosing. MacBooks do not provide built-in touchscreens.

ChromeOS

Chromebooks suit browser-focused tasks and supported apps. Check offline use, printing, school requirements and desktop-software needs. A web version of an app may not offer all the desktop features.

No preference?

Keep your options open until software compatibility is settled. Familiarity, support and total cost matter more than a generic claim that one system is always best.

This is buying guidance, not a hands-on product review. Verify the exact configuration and application requirements before purchase.
